Universal Credit - Local Support Services Framework

Details were given of a document received from Lord Freud, Minister for Welfare Reform, in respect of a Support Services Framework for the delivery of Universal Credit. Consideration was given to a response which had been submitted in consultation with the Leader to meet the 15 March 2013 deadline for comments. This had welcomed the initiative in principle subject to receipt of information on the grant funding of public and voluntary sector bodies to enable them to deliver the welfare reform agenda.
The Cabinet resolved that:
The response sent to Lord Freud in respect of the proposed Local Support Services Framework be endorsed.
Reasons: As set out in the report of the Management Team.
